How long will my carpets take to dry?

This depends on the type of carpet you have. You can generally expect for your carpet to be dry within 2 – 4 hours. While our truck-mounted vacuum system removes almost all of the moisture immediately, your carpet or upholstery may still be damp to the touch. Using fans in any rooms cleaned and turning your air conditioning or heating system on can help accelerate drying time.

How often should I have my carpet professionally cleaned?

It is recommended that carpets are professional cleaned every 12 months. When cleaned and maintained correctly, the life of your carpet is extended. Your carpet will not be damaged if cleaned correctly and on a regular basis. It is the unseen bacteria, soils and allergens that cause the damage.

Many carpet cleaners will book you in with a price that is simply too good to refuse. Then once they arrive at your home, they will starts charging for extras like stain removal, larger rooms; heavy soiling, sanitising and deodorising. At Pro Carpet  we offer a fixed price quote – we are upfront with you and don’t charge for any hidden extras.

Does stain resistant carpet need to be professionally cleaned?

Yes, While the fibres in these carpets have been pre-treated to resists stains, deep cleaning is still needed to remove embedded dirt and allergens such as dust mites and pet hairs which settle deep within the carpet.

Will my carpet need cleaning more often once it is cleaned?

No, Some poor quality cleaners can leave residues that will lead to rapid resoiling. At Pro Carpet we avoid this problem by only using high quality products and advanced extraction methods.

Is it possible to have my carpets cleaned too often?

No. Dirt acts as an abrasive when trapped in your carpet causing it to wear prematurely. Regular professional cleaning will extend the life of your carpet and protect your investment.

Steam Cleaning VS Dry Cleaning?

Steam cleaning (hot water extraction)

Steam cleaning is suitable for most carpets. It can be done with a truck mounted or portable machine. Pro Carpet use a truck-mounted machine – it is more powerful and will do a more thorough job.

Carpet manufacturers recommend steam cleaning as the preferred method of carpet cleaning to invigorate and prolong the life of the carpet.

Dry cleaning

Dry cleaning (some water is used though less than in steam cleaning), is also sometimes referred to as “surface cleaning”. It does just that – removes the dirt from the surface but cannot penetrate deep down into the carpet fibers like a steam clean can.  It’s handy for areas that receive a lot of traffic and need a fast drying time. Dry cleaning is often used as a freshen up between steam cleans.

What is the difference between a spot and a stain?

A spot is a substance (mud, food, grease) that is adhered to the carpet fibre but has not become set. Spots are most likely removed by a professional carpet cleaning service. A stain is more advanced and may have become set, requiring additional treatment.
